Statement of the Author's Purpose

1.  The author is a working librarian and a practicing historian.  This site is dedicated to the many people and institutions that struggle every day to preserve the history and culture of the United States Southwest.

2.  For the purposes of this site the U.S. Southwest is defined as the states of Arizona and New Mexico with some exceptions of significant "close" geographic locations or institutions.

3.  The author makes no guarantees as to accuracy of the links or of the information located on the site.  However the author has visited each of the sites and does feel that inclusion of each site indicates a judgment that each site provides valuable information about historic preservation in this geographic location.  However exclusion of a site(s) does not necessarily indicate the authors judgment that a site does not provide valuable information.

4.  While it should not be necessary to say this.  Like most Internet sites, the work is always in progress and hopefully evolving.

5.  While the author would never consider the identification and categorization of valuable web sites to be any type of privileged information, the photographs and original research of the author and other researchers located on this site is considered to be fully copyrighted.  Use of the photographs and/or original research without permission is considered to be a gross violation of copyright and a sign of extremely poor taste and manners by the violator.  One can only hope that their sleep will be disturbed by frightening nightmares.

6.  The author is attempting to offer a mediated opinion of a subject that is close and dear to his heart.  All constructive and honorable comments and suggestions are welcomed and valued.
